Aristotle Analysis System -- Siemens Programs, HR Variants

OVERVIEW

This page provides access to variants of programs, versions, and test cases created originally by researchers at Siemens Corporate Research and provided to Mary Jean Harrold and Gregg Rothermel. Harrold, Rothermel, their students, and their colleagues have modified the programs, versions, and test cases, and built various test suites from the test cases, to make them usable by various tools and to make them suitable for the needs of various projects.

DOWNLOAD INFORMATION - Release 2.2

The materials available to download consist of a README file, which explains the organization of the rest of the subjects, and the seven subjects, organized by program. The materials are available here tarred and gzipped. To download a file using Netscape Navigator, press and hold Shift and click on the appropriate link.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

There are several papers that describe uses to which these subjects have been put.

The description of the original variants and their use in empirical studies are given in

The descriptions of the HR-variants and the uses of releasees of those variants in empirical studies are given in a number of papers, including the following. NOTE: We continue to update these materials; also, some experiments require minor changes in the materials to accommodate the use of specific tools. Thus, some statistics about the subjects reported in these papers, such as lines of code, may differ in small ways from the statistics gathered on the current release of the subjects. Furthermore, statistics such as fault revealing behavior and coverage of tests were calculated on specific architectures and could vary under different compilers, OS's, and hardware platforms.
